Bespoke website for Boetech

Boetech builds barn equipment for dairy farmers and has been a Lely partner since 1997. We designed their website entirely in Adobe XD and then built it custom in WordPress, with integrations to the ERP and order-handling system.

The client's question

Product data from the ERP, not from a spreadsheet.

Boetech manufactures and installs barn equipment for dairy farmers: gates, buffer systems and everything that belongs between the milking robot and the bulk tank. Every barn is different, so virtually every project is bespoke. That makes the website more than a business card: a dairy farmer or Lely Centre needs to see which systems exist and what fits their situation. The product information was not on the website, however. It lived in the ERP, where stock levels and orders are also managed. As long as those two are separate, the site always lags behind reality and someone has to manually keep track of what is correct.

Our technical approach

Our solution

We started with the design. The entire site was worked out in Adobe XD, including a clickable prototype, so Boetech could review the full picture before a single line of code was written. That design was then built custom in WordPress, without a purchased theme. The technical heart of the project lies in the integrations. The website pulls product data directly from the ERP, and enquiries are routed to the order-handling system. This keeps the site up to date without anyone retyping data, and incoming enquiries arrive in the right place straight away. Boetech manages all remaining content entirely on their own.

From technology to use

What we built

  • Pixel-perfect translation of the Adobe XD design into WordPress
  • Integration with the ERP for up-to-date product data
  • Integration with the order-handling system for incoming enquiries
  • Fixed templates so new pages are automatically on-brand
  • Full self-management of content after delivery
