Elementor Pro costs: which licence do you need?

What are the costs of Elementor Pro? Elementor has a free version and a Pro version. The Pro version offers more widgets and templates, but also a Theme builder, WooCommerce builder and Popup builder. Have you decided to purchase Elementor Pro? A great choice. In this article, we break down the (annual) costs for Elementor Pro.

Elementor Pro costs: the packages

The costs for Elementor Pro range from 59 dollars per year to 399 dollars per year. The costs depend on the number of websites you want to use Elementor for. All subscriptions offer the same features and capabilities. There is no difference.

We explain the three subscriptions below:

Essential: 59 dollars per year

When you choose ‘Essential’, the cost of Elementor is 59 dollars per year. The cost for this licence was 49 dollars until 1 December 2022. This licence has therefore become slightly more expensive. For those 59 dollars, you receive one licence that you can use for a single website. You then have all Elementor Pro features at your disposal.

Who is this suitable for?

This subscription is suitable if, for example, you are a sole trader wanting to build your own website and do not plan to build more websites in the near future.

Elementor Pro Advanced costs: 99 dollars per year

The Advanced subscription is intended for those who want to use Elementor Pro for more than one website. It is already worthwhile choosing this subscription if you want to build two websites with Elementor Pro.

Who is this suitable for?

This subscription is suitable for web builders who, for example, want to experiment with Elementor Pro first (that is how we started ourselves). Or for web builders who want to duplicate a website to another domain. It may also be that you simply want to create more than one website.

Buy 3 licences for 99 dollars per year

The Advanced subscription is intended for those who want to use Elementor Pro for more than one website. It is already worthwhile choosing this subscription if you want to build two websites with Elementor Pro.

Who is this suitable for?

This subscription is suitable for web builders who, for example, want to experiment with Elementor Pro first (that is how we started ourselves). Or for web builders who want to duplicate a website to another domain. It may also be that you simply want to create more than one website.

Elementor Pro Expert costs: 199 dollars per year

If you choose the ‘Expert’ subscription, you can use the licence for 25 websites. You then receive one licence key that you use for all websites. Previously, this subscription allowed you to use the licence for 1,000 websites. In March 2021, Elementor changed the pricing for this. Had you already purchased the licence? Then you can still use it for 1,000 websites.

Who is this suitable for?

This subscription is intended for web builders / freelancers who want to use Elementor Pro for a few clients.

Elementor Pro costs for agencies: 399 dollars

Do you manage more than 25 websites with Elementor Pro? Then you can take the Expert subscription. You can then use Elementor Pro for 1,000 websites. It will take a while before you reach that number. The costs are then 399 dollars per year.

Buying Elementor without a credit card

Elementor offers two payment options: PayPal or credit card. Unfortunately, there is no option to pay by bank transfer yet. I made some enquiries and for the time being this is not on the agenda either. But the more people request it, the greater the chance it will eventually happen. So do ask Elementor about it.

If you do not have a credit card, you therefore need a PayPal account to purchase Elementor. You link a PayPal account to your bank account. There are no extra costs involved and it is straightforward to set up.

Activating your Elementor licence

When purchasing Elementor Pro, you create an account. Through that account, you can download Elementor Pro, cancel, renew or upgrade your subscription and add domain names. Navigate to ‘Subscriptions’ for this.

Switching to a different subscription

If you only have one website, it makes sense to start with the Personal licence for 59 dollars per year. But if you are going to build two more websites, it is worthwhile upgrading. Through your Elementor account, you can upgrade your subscription. This works as follows:

You have already spent 59 dollars on a Personal licence. You need two more. Instead of buying two new Personal licences (at 59 dollars each), you change your subscription to ‘Plus’. You then only pay 40 dollars. This saves you 78 dollars.

When you switch to a different subscription, it works in the same way.

To upgrade a subscription, click ‘upgrade’. You will then see a screen with possible upgrades for your licence.

What happens if you cancel the subscription?

This is a question that is frequently asked. What happens to your website if you cancel the subscription? Will your website still work?

I have good news for you: if you cancel the subscription, your website will continue to work. However, you will no longer be able to use certain features (widgets), you will lose the connection to Elementor templates and you will no longer receive updates (after the expiration date of your subscription). This means you cannot use new features. It is also possible that Elementor may eventually work less well with other plugins (that are up to date) or with newer WordPress versions.

I therefore recommend renewing your subscription annually. Even if you do not expect to use new features.

Discounts

Elementor rarely offers discounts on the Pro version, apart from Black Friday. So there is no need to wait for one. We also do not think downloading Elementor Pro for free is a good idea. Elementor Pro is well worth the money!
